Oklahoma Celtic Heritage Association is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Oklahoma Celtic Music and Heritage Festival. Our first festival was such a success that we can't help but want to do it again. Payne County will once again play host to this event. The Oklahoma Celtic Music and Heritage Festival is brought to you by the Oklahoma Celtic Heritage Association. This project will be held at the Payne County Expo in Stillwater, OK in June of 2008. The Festival will showcase the music, dance, arts, crafts and heritage of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and other Celtic countries whose descendants settled in Payne County and the rest of Oklahoma. The skirl of the pipes, and call of the fiddles will fill the air as demonstrations and workshops take place during the two days of celebration. The Oklahoma Music and Heritage Festival has been formally made a subsidiary of United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma. USCO is joined in the support of this project by the Tulsa Irish American Club and the Tulsa Gaelic Association as well as many historians and performers from across Oklahoma. More news about the project will follow as we continue to work toward this goal. Join with us as we celebrate our roots in Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Galacia, Brittany, Scotland, and Isle of Man with an exploration of the history, dance, culture, and music from the Celtic Nations. The festival will be held indoors at the Payne County Expo Center. The festival will include vendors, Scottish Clans, demonstrations, workshops and live entertainment to be featured on three stages. Festival hours are 9:30 am-6:00pm Saturday, June 21, 2008 and Sunday, June 22, 2008 |
