| The artists taking part will be the first to acknowledge that Elvis Presley can never be replaced, but we hope that this is the closest concert we will ever get to sampling (if only a fraction) the Elvis magic that fans tasted at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935–August 16, 1977) was an American singer, musician and actor. He is a cultural icon, often known as "The King of Rock 'n' Roll", or simply "The King". Presley began his career as one of the first performers of rockabilly, an uptempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat. He recorded songs in the rock and roll genre, with tracks like "Hound Dog" and "Jailhouse Rock" later embodying the style. Presley had a versatile voice and had unusually wide success encompassing other genres, including gospel, blues, ballads and pop. To date, he has been inducted into four music halls of fame. Shawn Klush is an Elvis tribute act. He was born and raised in the small coal-mining town of Pittston, Pennsylvania. Shawn's love for music led him to begin imitating his musical idol, Elvis Presley. Shawn's father was a DJ, who often brought home Elvis records. From the age of 12, Shawn started depicting Elvis at parties. On January 6th 2005, just two days before Elvis’ 70th birthday, Shawn became grand champion at the $25,000 “World Elvis Tribute Artist Competition”. In 2007 he received “The People's Choice Award” from Gibson Guitar in Nashville as “Best Concert Elvis”. Shawn was also named the international champion of BBC1's World's Greatest Elvis competition in the United Kingdom. In August 2007, he was chosen by Graceland as the winner of Elvis Presley Enterprises’ first ever Ultimate Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis, Tennessee.
