| [title of show] is a musical with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell. The musical documents its own creation by two Broadway fans, who want to enter the Theatre Festival and struggle to complete the show in three weeks, and their two actress friends. The actors are also the writers and characters of the musical. [title of show] was first produced at the 2004 New York Musical Theater Festival. Since then it has been included in the off-Broadway Vineyard Theatre's rotation of productions as well as having an extended 2006 run at the same theater, for which it won three Obie Award Special Citations for its writer/stars, Bowen and Bell, and its director Michael Berresse. The musical is scheduled to start previews on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on July 5, 2008, with the official opening on July 17, with the entire off-Broadway cast and with Michael Berresse continuing as director.
