June 10, 2008 25th Stockholm Jazz Festival

Stockholm SwedenStockholm Jazz Festival is an annual jazz festival in Stockholm (see photo), Sweden, spread over several venues across the city.

Over the years, arguably all known names in jazz have appeared on stage - including Swedish stars such as Arne Domnérus, Monica Zetterlund, Nils Landgren, Peps Persson, and Lisa Ekdahl, and international giants such as Count Basie, BB King, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miriam Makeba.
The 16-19th of July 2008 Stockholm Jazz Festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary in style on the island Skeppsholmen in the heart of downtown Stockholm. During the four-day-long festival, more than thirty artists will perform from early afternoon until midnight on five different stages. The festival expects more than 25,000 people in the audience.

Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of the oldest festivals in Sweden, and also one of Stockholm’s biggest events. The festival is well known all over the world, and is one of the nicest and well-managed venues in Europe. This reputation is not just built upon the many brilliant musicians who have performed at the festival, but also on its unique and beautiful location – the island of Skeppsholmen.
