June 22, 2008 Tri-State Bluegrass Festival

Downtown Kendallville has rich Victorian architecture In May 1990, less than 100 people gathered at the Noble County fairgrounds in Indiana on Kendallville's (see photo) northeast side for the first bluegrass festival. A hay wagon was used for the stage and listeners were huddled in a cattle barn.

In 2007 the festival had grown to feature 14 regional and nationally known bluegrass bands playing on an outdoor stage. Thousands of bluegrass music enthusiasts from around the United States and Canada are expected to gather at the fairgrounds for the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association's annual Tri-State Bluegrass Festival that started August 28 (Thursday) and continued through August 31 (Sunday), 2008.
